Hi all: Here's my Evo2 (#207/500) with 64 000 original miles (every receipt and MOT since new) , its been completely revised, serviced and remapped by Bexley Motor Works before being shipped to its new country, Portugal. They did an excellent job and didn't have to leave an arm or leg either! The car's in pristine condition although its been used on the Ring and Spa now and then. The brakes have been upgraded with a 6-pot 320mm kit from Hi-spec but modified (hats and machined caliper) to be able to use the OEM 16' wheels. The suspension was sorted as well with Ledas/Koni, H&R springs and Eibach anti-roll bars, its got a 40% lock up and a shorter diff (3.64) and all sort of little reversible mods. All this work culminated with a detail job for www.car-detail.net which are pretty much the best in the country (Portugal) for this.
I fixed it for you, hope you don't mind. Awesome car Kiko I wish they would be available here in the states. Thomas
Hey Kiko, glad to see you got the car back home nice and safe. I saw the dyno print out, very impressive! Did you manage to remove the rest of the roll cage?
Yep, I took the cage out and sold it even before the car was shipped to Portugal... The car arrived safe and sound but since it arrived here the car was worked on full time by a workshop and the following list of was performed: - A/C retrofitted and R134 converted. - Wheels were professionally refurbished - Fitted a brand new set of SO-3's - Fitted the H&R Sport springs (you were spot on, they're alot stiffer...)and shocks were revised set-up by a suspension specialist to match the springs. - New M-tech II steering wheel (not shown on the fotos) - New gearknow (iluminated) - New center consoles (the old ones had holes drilled for all sorts of things) - The gearbox is being rebuilt next week as we have been waiting for all the parts. - New distributor cap and rotor - New oem leads (to be fitted next week) - New spark plugs - New coolant fluid - The front strut brace was painted Nogaro Silver - New headlight rings - BMW Bavaria Electronic C radio (from german Ebay) was fitted as this was the headunit that came originally on the car according to BMW records. - Uwe's sump baffle is being fitted next with the cross-member reinforcements.
Exactly how I wanted them to be! the first inch of travel is soft enough to digest the potholes with near OEM "soupless" and after that it becomes considerably harder, still it copes better with impact than Koni's. Its a pity they're not adjustable though.
I'd like to hear more about your 320mm brakes that fit under 16" wheels. Do you need a spacer for these? Tell me more more more Steve
Steve, Actually the rotors are 312x32, curved vein, slotted and cast in Germany... The calipers are the "Monster 6" Hispec Motorsport units which I have no complaint whatsoever. The OEM 16' wheels fitment is VERY tight, so tight the there no clearence to fit a balancing weight between the caliper and the wheel. The hats supplied by Hispec for the M3 E30 are flat and the caliper sticks out too much not allowing the OEM wheels to fit. A lot of measuring was done and the result was a set of hats and caliper adapter that offsets the rotor enough to clear the wheels with nothing but a 5mm spacer. I offered Hispec the possibility to copy mine but to this day I have not received a reply about this...
