I am always surprised that the Europameister does NOT fetch the extra money one would expect from such a low quantity special edition.
In the end of the day is't just a 195 model with loads of leather and a plaque.
I even know of one which has been completly stripped and caged and is now white with M stripes because it came up cheap.

Good luck to the seller. 25.000Euro!

Sounds like a very good deal considering the restoration work it has had. I would buy it at that price.

Both those cars are really clean, but aren't low mile/km examples, but still fairly large asking prices. Good ones are obviously getting thinner and thinner on the ground.

Yes, nothing wrong with the Europameister whatsoever. ;) A real nice and should be sought after limited edition.

Just in the last week I have noticed that SE's and Evo2's are rocketing in price. Low mileage mintey mint SE's are getting close to CSL money now.

Really? A minty mint SE (original, low mileage but has been driven and no accident damage or paint is a must) is maybe £22k MAX and a CSL is £30k

Classic car magazines say the M3 is worth 12500euros (£8.500), an Evo 1 (£10000) an Evo 2 up to a whopping 25000€ (£16600) and the Sport Evo to 35000€ (£23.300)...

    now go figure...

I know of a couple going for £25k+ (not mine). One with low mileage (40k ish) but needs a re-paint and the seller turned down an offer of £25k. This offer came from someone who deals in M3's, so if he was going to pay that and then re-paint it, what would he be selling it for? So if this is right, minty mint sport evo's really are not far from CSL money. Finding one with original paint and accident free is almost impossible.. If you do find one I am sure you will be paying nigh on CSL money.

Quite! I tend to think Classic car mags tend to be a rough guide for a good usable car, at the end of the day, they are only worth what people will pay init! How may M3's have you seen sell for over £8500? There has been a fair few lately.

Now i would have to ask why would a 40k car need a re-paint?

I know of four very clean never had any accidents or paint examples which are mint and under the £25k mark.

Who has these four very clean never had any accidents or paint examples which are mint and under £25k? Do you personally know these cars from new?

I know Chris Wadsley has/had a couple but he says people are paying that money for them. He was the guy who bid £25k for a Sport Evo NEEDING a complete repaint and was turned down....Like I said, if a dealer was going to buy one for that money to sell on.... 'nuff said. Call him and ask why the 40,000 mile car needed a re-paint, I have no idea!

Agreed. My Cabrio has been fully restored (there's a squillion pics on this site). Even with me buying the original car at a very favourable price AND going to the trouble of importing most of the BMW parts from a contact in Germany....it owes over 100k. That's about 50k Euro... so 25k is cheap. Just try and do a proper full resto for that.

you have to consider your location. Over there car like yours is probably far more exclusive and sought after than over here. And not everybody is willing to spend 50k Euro's for a "simple" M3, that's a personal decision and
doesn't mean this are price levels these cars are going for in general.

If I would be able to spend serious money for a Special Edition M3, I would rather have a untouched car (even if the paint work isn't top notch) than refunding somebody else's collection of bills. What seems like a complete reasonable expense to you might be completly OTT for somebody else and might not even contribute to the value of the car.

And by all means, stripping a car back to bare shell and putting all back together will only be worth doing if the craftman ship involved is top notch. As we all know there are a lot of people out there which haven't got a clue what they are doing (talking of "specialist" taking your hard earned cash).

In the end it's a thing between two people, the seller and the buyer.

Anyhow, this thread was about an Europameister for sale and not if there are untidy Sport Evo's available for 40k.......

If someone wants to go buy a car like this and fully restore it then I believe (and I think Conrod was saying the same) that it will cost you a shit load more money than what this car is being offered for. And I really could not give a rat's arse about which Country folk live in or what the stupid exchange rate is or what E30M3's supposedly are worth in any particular neck of the woods, it will still cost an arm and a leg if someone has it in mind to buy one of these cars and restore it...a lot more than what so called values are :12:

I couldn't agree more :) But the Sport Evo in question had 40k miles, wasn't £40k.

That Europa is nice, but not original and still commands a high price.

Aaaarrrgggghhhhh !!! Who gives a shit ! (Hehehe, Oscar throwing the toys out the cot :D ).

The stupid damn cars are going to be worth what some shit for brains (like me) pays for them....end of that story.

And, to reiterate, or be a nag-arse...whichever you prefer :p ,just go be a real enthusiast and buy one and resto it. Then come back and sell it cheap and everyone will be happy :20:

Actually, on a serious note, one of the Europemeister cars was brought into this Country not too long ago. I have seen it. I'm not so sure that the cost was a great deal different to this restored version. But then there is shipping and tax and whatevers...
